Today Mint performed at a fabulous wedding at Chijmes, an event venue in Singapore with a history dating back to 1841 as a Catholic convent. As is customary at Jewish weddings, Hava Nagila was performed at the end, with everyone joining in on the dancing.

You did an AMAZING job last night and were so good with moving the crowd! I know our guests had fun and were enjoying dancing and singing to the songs. Thanks for being so game with our march-in request and especially with the Hava Nagila! – Bride

I wanted to thank you both for helping create a very magical night for us — it was great fun. And you and Didi were wonderful. As always, your music warmed my heart, and I know Jan’s and the guests. But beyond that, it’s your warmth and kind spirit that you and Didi share — it just added to the love in the room. – Groom

Today the two principle members of White Noise Quartet (who happen to be the two principle members of Midnight Sun) performed as a duo at Singapore’s favourite little bookstore Books Actually. They played original songs off their CD White Noise Live, and featured talks by the artists who designed the CD cover art: designer Ric Liu and phtographer Tan Ngiap Heng.

mimuthings‘ are two fabulous little characters created in 2002 by the talented Hong Kong designer and handcrafter Fion Wong Pui Man. In May, she held an exhibition of her designs that featured mimuthings at Singapore’s Monster Gallery. Polkadot + Moonbeam (in roving acoustic unplugged mode) was the featured musical act of the exhibition.

CrazyWorld, one of Singapore’s few bastions of original indie music, sadly closed its doors in March, but not before a farewell bash that featured the cream of Singapore’s indie scene. Featuring original compositions from Juliet Pang’s ‘Perfect Journey‘, Mint joined The Freshmen, GaR.A.J Band and Shimona Kee in a performance to wish the hardworking and dedicated proptrietors the best in their future endeavours.

Starting from the month of January 2013 until early April, Mint will have a new residency performing live at Outpost 903 Gastrobar on 903 Bukit Timah Rd, Singapore. From Outpost 903’s Facebook page:

Outpost 903 Gastrobar is inspired by the portmanteau culture of gastropubs in the UK, serving quality grub in a cozy bar where people connect. It’s a place for friends and families to eat, drink and be merry; a station away from the main forces in the city.

Outpost offers a good combination of old-fashion American and British bar menu classics with a Peranakan twist in some. Accompanying its food is the wide spread of beers (6 on tap with 3 being craft) and a long list of bottles, wines and many more.

Thanks to Witono from Outpost 903 and The Freestyle Photographer for the photo!
