Today Polkadot + Moonbeam together with Singapore’s favourite acapella group Micapella were featured at Mapletree Arts in the City, an initiative of the Singapore National Arts Council to bring Arts into the white-collar workplace, in this case, Mapletree Business City.
White Noise (fronted by Juliet Pang and Didi Mudigdo of Peachy Sounds’ Midnight Sun) presented their new compositions at Artistry Gallery Cafe in a performance featuring Singapore’s star bassist Wendy Phua. This performance opened their 2014 Asia Tour of Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia.

On May 3rd Polkadot + Moonbeam performed at the inaugural Sentosa Ukulele Festival 2014, augmented by Singapore’s top rhythm section players bassist Wendy Phua and drummer Tan Boon Gee. They played alongside an international cast that included James Hill (Canada) and Sungha Jung (Korea), as well as fabulous Singaporean acts Jack & Rai and Eileen Chai. Today Polkadot + Moonbeam at Esplanade Singapore was augmented by one of Singapore’s most in-demand trumpet players Dan Wong. For this special occasion, Dan brought his flugelhorn, adding another dimension to Polkadot + Moonbeam’s unique sound. This show not only featured a brilliant new player, but also two sets of fresh arrangements and original songs to welcome in 2014, including a collaborative composition with Dan Wong.
